four years, things have changed greatly because obama policies. right now as i look out my window, i'm in the middle of nowhere, i see border control trucks going down the road for the drug smugglers bringing the drugs over. i used to see 400 footprints in my washes some nights. people smuggling. that's been stopped. and that has made so in the orchards up here our pay raise for mexican-americans and anglo-americans like me has gone from $7 an hour to $14 an hour. and now a husband and a wife can make $30 an hour together working at these things. what's happening is they cannot get guides from here to take them through the mountains anymore because they're like heck with that. i can get health insurance. working in the pistachio orchards. it is awesome. that's his policies of cracking down on the companies themselves. not that stupid border fence. it doesn't work at all. >> stephanie: and pistachios are yummy. i would like to point that out. . the cause for all the concern right now including the statements from president obama and secretary clinton is the reports from this weekend. reports from this weekend quoting intelligence sources saying there was "heightened activity at some of syria's chemical weapons sites." raising the prospect that the government might feel like they are losing the war they are fighting with conventional weapons and may be looking to their chemical weapons supplies out of desperation. there's no reason to be alarmist about this going on, but this is also alarming enough now that it makes sense to be paying attention and paying attention closely. and toward that end, i want to highlight one other detail of the story. the last time the international community noticed unusual activity around syria's chemical weapons site, the last time the world freaked out that maybe the syrians were going to gas their own people, the last time this happened was in july. and in july this is who stood up for the syrian government and said, don't worry t will never happen. >> any unconventional weapon that the public posse

in the real world. consider what we're thinking about, what we're talking about right now. obama, who won the election with an overwhelming electoral college mandate has put forward exactly what he campaigned on, which is sensible tax reform allowing the top 2% of the tax -- of rates to increase on the top 2% of tax earners and spending cuts. we've had a trillion in spending cuts already, $800 billion additional in the drawdown from the war efforts in afghanistan and iraq, and then a number of spending proposals that obama put on the table in august of '11. consider that against what republicans are doing, and this shows that republicans are really chicken hawks when it comes to reducing the debt. they have a plan on tax reduction which most economists think would do far more harm than the obama plan would. secondly, they fail to specify what kind of cuts they want. remember, this is the party that's campaigned for two election cycles now on cutting government spinding, but when you ask them to identify exactly what you want to cut, you get mishmash from them. you get $100 billion in medi
